Resources When Our Vision Deteriorates

Resources When Our Vision Deteriorates

Thursday, August 27, 2026

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Virtual – Zoom link to follow

Is that handheld magnifying glass no longer working for you? Are you struggling to read your mail, a book or newspaper these days? Are you having difficulty using essential household devices like the microwave, stove, or washing machine? Can you read your scale, thermometer, or blood pressure kit?

Glover Park Village is offering a Zoom presentation that can help. This session will provide information on resources and aids to help us continue to live safely in our homes and community as we experience aging with vision loss.

Our presenter will be Curtis Richards, a nationally-recognized disability community leader and a Glover Park Village volunteer.  Richards, who has been visually impaired since he was a toddler, will share the array of resources, products, and strategies he uses to lead an independent lifestyle as he ages.

This is the first in a series of Glover Park Village presentations to help older adults live and thrive with various levels and types of disabling conditions. This program is made possible by an Equitable Village Access grant funded by the DC Department of Aging and Community Living.
