POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Description: Population Mapping of Glover Park

Seeking an experienced data collection & management researcher with the skills to produce a Glover Park Village-specific catchment area demographic map.

Glover Park Village (GPV) wishes to strengthen its ability to identify and serve residents in its catchment area who are not currently engaged with the Village. Through a focused population mapping initiative, GPV will implement a structured approach to identify, assess, reach, and better serve adult community members who may require additional support due to economic, cultural, or language constraints as well as disability and other health conditions.

The Equitable Village Access initiative will produce a GPV-specific catchment population map integrating multiple data layers, including age, race/ethnicity, disability, income proxy indicators, and residential building locations. GPV's service area includes a mix of single-family homes, garden apartments, and a significant concentration of high-rise condominium, cooperative, and apartment buildings with substantial numbers of long-term residents. This service area includes a large number of older residents, many of whom are underrepresented and/or experience disability. GPV is committed to improving its ability to reach and serve older adults in its service area.

The researcher will need to identify, analyze, and create a detailed population map drawing from decennial U.S. Census data, recent American Community Survey estimates, and available DC-specific GIS resources in collaboration with the DC Department of Planning. This is a short-term (1-3 months) project. A small stipend is available.
