We are excited to announce our latest virtual speaker series: Scandalous Washington: History Behind the Headlines with Dr. Cindy Gueli, which begins on Tuesday, February 22nd, at 11:00am via Zoom.

 Dr. Cindy Gueli is a historian focusing on U.S. cultural, political, and women’s history, and author of Lipstick Brigade: The Untold True Story of Washington’s World War II Government Girls, which has been optioned for television.

In this fantastic series we will learn about the underlying causes and context of infamous scandals involving presidents, politicians, and other notable DC residents, and reveal the truth and consequences behind headlines that shook the capital.

We are hosting three separate discussions on Sex, Murder, and Assassination.  Dr Gueli will explore how gossip, controversy, and shocking behavior have been used as social and political currency and have sometimes even altered the course of the city’s history.

The following events will be on Tuesday, March 22nd, and Tuesday April 26th, both at 11:00am.
