CAPP Direct Service Volunteer

This type of volunteering will involve maintaining direct contact with CAPP service recipients and coordination with the housekeeping service providers.

These volunteers will meet in person or by phone with each CAPP participant.   Volunteers will explain the program in detail and collect the grant-required information by using a short survey tool.

The Direct Service Volunteers will discuss housekeeping needs and desires with the CAPP participant, arrange a date to start the housekeeping program, and provide the date to the Coordinator Volunteer.

Before the first housekeeping date, the Direct Service volunteer will followApp up with the CAPP Participant to ensure that they are prepared for the housekeepers’ visit.  The volunteer will attend the first housekeeping day to ensure that the CAPP Participant is comfortable with the housekeeping crew and with the job they are doing.  Volunteers will also note any requests or changes in housekeeping needs for future appointments. The Direct Service Coordinator will work with the Participant to arrange future dates. Volunteers may continue to attend follow-up appointments, as needed, to ensure that visits are running smoothly.

Direct Service Volunteers will get feedback from the CAPP Participant during the housekeeping visit and afterward to report any feedback and requests for other CAPP services to the Coordinator Volunteer and, if applicable, to the Service Expansion Volunteers.

At the same time the Direct Service Volunteer will inform the Participant about events, programs and other GPV gatherings. This process of eliciting feedback from the Participant during visits and phone calls and reporting it should be ongoing to keep the program running well.
